AIM Leads Erasmus+ Project to Drive Digital Transformation in Manufacturing
AIM Centre is thrilled to be leading a new Erasmus+ funded project aimed at upskilling and reskilling professionals for the future of smart manufacturing.
The project, titled Training and Re-skilling for Smart Manufacturing (TRANSFORM), is an Erasmus+ KA210-VET initiative aimed at enhancing digital competencies in the manufacturing sector. It is a small-scale partnership in vocational education and training, focusing on digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
The TRANSFORM project brings together three leading institutions across Europe to develop flexible, high-quality training resources that will equip individuals and businesses with the digital skills needed to embrace the future of manufacturing.
Who’s Involved?
- AIM Centre (Ireland) – Project lead, bringing expertise in digital transformation, smart manufacturing, and vocational training.
- ESTIA (France) – A top engineering school specialising in automation, robotics, and digital innovation.
- IESE Business School (Spain) – A globally recognised business school, contributing expertise in leadership and strategic management for digital transformation.
This project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union under KA210-VET: Small-Scale Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training.
Bridging the Digital Skills Gap
The manufacturing sector is evolving rapidly, with AI, connected systems, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) driving innovation. However, many workers and companies lack the necessary skills to adopt and leverage these new technologies effectively.
Through TRANSFORM, we are creating practical and modular learning resources designed for:
- Adult learners and job seekers looking to transition into digital manufacturing roles.
- SMEs and industry professionals in need of digital upskilling.
- Educators and vocational trainers seeking new methodologies for training.
Our goal is to equip at least 150 learners with future-proof skills, ensuring they can confidently navigate the digital manufacturing landscape.
Driving Impact in Our Region and Beyond
As an innovation hub in the North-West of Ireland, AIM Centre is committed to supporting businesses and individuals in adapting to industry changes. The TRANSFORM project will not only benefit Ireland but also strengthen collaboration across Europe, sharing expertise and best practices to create a more digitally resilient workforce.
By leading this initiative, we are ensuring that our region remains at the forefront of manufacturing innovation, providing businesses with the skills and tools needed to thrive in Industry 4.0.
What’s Next?
Over the next 18 months, AIM Centre and our partners will:
- Develop and test modular digital learning resources on AI, MES, and smart manufacturing.
- Host collaborative workshops and stakeholder engagement events.
- Launch a sustainable digital learning platform for ongoing skill development.
