TRANSFORM
Training & Re-Skilling for Smart Manufacturing
An Erasmus+ Project Led by AIM Centre
The manufacturing industry is undergoing rapid digital transformation, however, many professionals and businesses face a digital skills gap that limits their ability to adapt.
Training and Re-skilling for Smart Manufacturing (TRANSFORM), is an Erasmus+ KA210-VET initiative aimed at enhancing digital competencies in the manufacturing sector. It is a small-scale partnership in vocational education and training, focusing on digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Training will be carried out through a flexible, modular learning framework that combines online resources, virtual collaboration, and in-person engagement.
What TRANSFORM Will Deliver
- Modular digital learning via webinars on AI, MES, and smart manufacturing
- Training opportunities for at least 150 learners, from industry professionals to career changers
- A sustainable digital learning platform for ongoing workforce development
- Collaborative workshops and industry engagement to support digital transformation
Who Can Get Involved?
- Industry professionals and SMEs looking to upskill in digital technologies
- Job seekers and career changers exploring opportunities in smart manufacturing
- Educators and vocational trainers developing new training methodologies
- Policymakers and stakeholders focused on digital education and workforce development
TRANSFORM is a European collaboration led by AIM Centre (Ireland), in partnership with ESTIA (France) and IESE Business School (Spain). The project aims to develop high-quality, flexible training resources to help professionals, job seekers, and businesses build the skills needed for the future of manufacturing.

VEX IQ Robotics Competitions 2024/25
This year, AIM are taking the roll of Cluster Leader for the roll out of VEX IQ in Primary Schools around the Sligo, Leitrim, Mayo and surrounding border towns.
This is a global competition run through local primary schools for kids aged 11+ years. Each primary school must sign up to take part.
As Cluster Leader, AIM will engage schools with our outreach programme, which will involve the following:
- Teacher training, to ensure teachers are equipped with the skills needed to support their students.
- Term time outreach, where we come to you for an interactive workshop and help you get ahead of the competition!
- Scrimmages, where students attend the AIM Centre on Saturday mornings to go head-to-head with other schools in the locality.
The Regional Competition will take place on 31st January 2025 in ATU, Sligo. The National Competition takes place in February 2025 in MTU, Cork. The location of the Global Competition is yet to be announced for 2025. In previous years the competition has been held in Dallas, TX.
Registration for the 2024/2025 competition is now closed, however if you are interested in the 2025/2026 programme, please register via the form.
Please note that it is recommended that there is approximately 10 students per Competition Kit to ensure students get the most out of their experience and learning. For large classes, you can enter additional teams, but each team will need a kit. Alternatively, you can work as a group and select the students most interested to participate in the competition.
Remember, this is a highly competitive global event & we want the best talent in the region to take on the challenge!
